Newcastle are unbeaten in their last seven home matches in the Premier League, with their last outing as hosts bringing a come-from-behind 2-1 win over Southampton. The Magpies are proving an unpredictable and tough team to beat under Steve Bruce, who seems to slowly be winning over the fans.
"It's always important that your home form stacks up,” said Bruce. “We've given ourselves a nice little platform, but that's all it is. We've still got some big games, we're not halfway there yet. But as I've said, December can be a defining month and we've had a decent start."

Palace’s last away result was a 0-0 draw at Watford earlier in the month. The Eagles tend to be strong on the road thanks to their pace and power on the counter attack, particularly through Ivorian forward Wilfried Zaha, who has shown some great form in recent weeks and will be a key danger man in this clash.
However, Zaha will need to keep his temper under check after becoming the target for opposition fouls. “I think most games it is like that,” said teammate James McArthur. “He is that talented that they need to try and stop him somehow. He just needs to keep doing his job, keep doing his talking on the ball.”
In head-to-head stats, Newcastle and Palace have met in 27 previous matches. The Magpies have claimed 14 wins compared to seven for the Eagles, while six games have been drawn.
Palace took four points off Newcastle in the teams’ Premier League meetings last season, playing to a 0-0 draw at Selhurst Park in September 2018 before claiming a 1-0 away win at St James Park in April 2019, thanks to a penalty from Luka Milivojevic.
