Maverick Vinales will be hoping to become the second rider to win back-to-back

The KTM rider failed to secure a podium spot at the Argentine MotoGP on 16 March, the most recent event on the 2025 MotoGP calendar.
Vinales finished 12th in the race and 18th in the sprint event which saw him fail to collect a single point at the Autódromo Termas de Río Hondo.
Standings
The Spanish racer is placed 17th on the riders' standings and he is yet to accumulate a single point in the current season.
Vinales, who won the 2013 Moto3 World Championship, is now 70 points behind the leader Marc Marquez of Ducati.
Why Vinales could win the 2025 Grand Prix of the Americas
The former Yamaha rider is the defending champion, having won the 2024 Grand Prix of the Americas - his 10th win in MotoGP events.
Vimales, who also won this race as a Moto2 rider in 2014, will be confident of replicating the form that saw him win last season's event.
What did he say?
"It has been an important weekend for us. We did not start as we wanted," Vinales said after the Argentine MotoGP.
"But we recovered a lot of information that has brought us to a better feeling overall. Today, I rode much better than yesterday, and it gave me extra motivation for the next round.
"I think that we found a way to go, and I felt much more comfortable on the bike, so I am looking forward to the next round."
