What to know about the Japanese Grand Prix
Having been established in 1963, this event has been one of the last races of the season on the Formula One calendar historically.
Therefore, 13 World Drivers' Champions have been crowned over the 36 World Championship Japanese Grands Prix that have been hosted.

The Australian Grand Prix which was the round third of the 2024 Formula One World Championship was won by Carlos Sainz Jr of Ferrari on 24 March.
His teammate Charles Leclerc finished second while Lando Norris of McLaren secured a third-place finish at the Albert Park Circuit in Melbourne.
Standings
Red Bull Racing's Max Verstappen is sitting at the top of the World Drivers' Championship standings having won the first two races in this campaign.
Leclerc, Sergio Perez of Red Bull Racing and Sainz Jr are placed second, third and fourth respectively as the battle for the world title continues.
Favourites
Verstappen is a clear favourite to win the Japanese Grand Prix, but he will face stiff competition from the likes of Perez, Leclerc and Sainz Jr.
Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton, who has won five Japanese Grand Prix titles, will be looking to make history at the Suzuka International Racing Course.

"What a rollercoaster! I’m extremely happy," Sainz Jr said after winning the 2024 Australian Grand Prix.
"I felt good in the car right from lap 1 and after overtaking Max (Verstappen), when I was in free air, I started setting a strong pace that took me all the way to the finish line, bringing home the first win of the season.
"I’m also happy that George is OK after the heavy crash. The team deserves this one-two, we did a fantastic job all weekend, from FP1 to the last lap. We executed a perfect race, nailed the strategy and the mechanics were incredible delivering precise and quick pit stops every single time," he added.
