The Farmers Insurance, which is the fourth event on the 2025 PGA Tour schedule, is set to take place in San Diego, California, USA between 22 and 25 January.
What to know about the tournament
Founded in 1952, the tournament has been held at Torrey Pines Golf Course, a 36-hole municipal facility in La Jolla, since 1968 and it is held in the early part of the season known as the "West Coast Swing."
The PGA tournament is organized by the Century Club of San Diego and it has been known as the Farmers Insurance Open since 2010 after securing a sponsorship deal with an American insurer.

Farmers Insurance Open tournament officials announced that standout professional golfer and 15-time APGA Tour winner Willie Mack III has received a sponsor exemption to compete in the 2025 Farmers Insurance Open.
Mack III previously received the exemption in 2021 and has continued to make great strides on the APGA Tour circuit and beyond. In 2024, he became one of the first APGA Tour players to compete in the U.S. Open, earning his spot by way of a three-man playoff at the U.S. Open Final Qualifying in Jupiter, Florida.

The 2025 Farmers Insurance Open field which is set to have 165 players will be headlined by defending champion Matthieu Pavon, and top-ranked golfers such as Hideki Matsuyama, Ludvig Aberg and Keegan Bradley.
Past champions of the Farmers Insurance Open in this year's field include two-time champion Brandt Snedeker, two-time winner Jason Day, Luke List, Justin Rose as well as Max Homa.
What Is At Stake
The Farmers Insurance Open will see golfers compete for a share of the $9.3 million purse, with the 2025 champion receiving a check of $1,674,000.
The winner will also receive various other perks a PGA Tour tournament brings, such as 500 FedEx Cup points. Furthermore, the champion will receive a stunning trophy created with a bronze cast and patina sculpture that features the endangered Torrey Pine sitting on the towering cliffs.

"These golfers, at their core, are competitors. They want to win, and they want to be challenged, and Torrey is a challenge year after year," said Marty Gorsich, CEO of the Century Club, which puts on the Farmers Insurance Open.
"It doesn't matter what the purse is, these golfers want to play against the best at the hardest places to play, the most challenging places to play. You walk around and say, 'I'm a tour winner at this course or that course.'
"If you say you're a tour winner at Torrey Pines, there's a special badge of honor, and there's only a handful of courses that really carry that. We are fortunate to have one of those, so the best of the best want to come and hang their name on and be on the leader board at a place like Torrey Pines."
