2024 Australian Grand Prix is scheduled to take place in the second-most populous city in Australia, Melbourne on 24 March.
What to know about the Australian Grand Prix
One of the oldest surviving motorsport competitions held in Australia, the Grand Prix has moved frequently with 23 different venues having been used since it was first run at Phillip Island in 1928.
Having become part of the Formula One World Championship in 1985, the Australian Grand Prix is under contract to host Formula One until 2035.

The Saudi Arabian Grand Prix which was round two of the 2024 Formula One World Championship was won by Max Verstappen of Red Bull Racing-Honda RBPT on 9 March.
His teammate Sergio Perez finished second while Charles Leclerc of Ferrari secured a third-place finish at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit in Jeddah.
Standings
Verstappen is sitting at the top of the World Drivers' Championship standings having won the first two races in the current season.
Perez, Leclerc and George Russell of Mercedes are placed second, third and fourth respectively as they hope to topple Verstappen in the upcoming races.
Favourites
Verstappen is a clear favourite to win the Australian Grand Prix, but he will face stiff competition from the likes of Perez, Leclerc and Russell.
Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton, who has won two Australian Grand Prix races, will be targeting his third victory at the Albert Park Circuit.

"We need to find a bit more performance," Russell said after finishing sixth at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.
"We’ve seen potential and pace in the car, but we haven’t shown it when it’s mattered. We need to understand why that is and improve ahead of Melbourne.
"As we’ve seen, the pecking order behind the Red Bulls is very close so we need to get on top of it. There’s lots of work to do but I believe in the team.
