Real Madrid vs Celta Vigo
Real Madrid will look to continue their recent strong home form when they welcome Celta Vigo to Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano on the evening of Saturday 2 January 2021, kick-off at 21:00. The match is one of 10 spread over 2-4 January as part of Matchday 17 in the
2020-21 LaLiga season.
Real racked up a fourth successive home win across all competitions when they defeated Granada 2-0 on December 23, with goals from Casemiro and Karim Benzema. The result further underlined their status as strong contenders for the title.

Benzema was recently awarded the Alfredo Di Stefano Award by Marca for the best player in LaLiga, and he was honoured to unseat Lionel Messi: "It [the award] means a lot. I feel proud and very happy. It's the reward for my work at this club since 2009 and, as I say, it makes me very satisfied, without doubt."
Celta's last away outing brought a 1-1 draw at Getafe on December 23, with Iago Aspas netting from the penalty spot to cancel out Damian Suarez's early opener for the hosts, as the away side continued their strong push into mid-table.
“Since his arrival, it seems that things are going well, we have more confidence, but we haven't achieved anything yet," said Nolito of the positive influence of coach Eduardo Coudet. "We have to train hard and confront ourselves in training, that's what will allow us to be competitive in matches."

In head-to-head stats, Real and Celta have met in 46 matches across all competitions since 1993. Los Blancos have claimed 28 wins compared to 12 for the Celticos, while just six games have been drawn.
Real took four points off Celta last season, winning 3-1 at Abanca Balaidos in August 2019 before a 2-2 draw in Madrid in the return game in February 2020. Los Blancos have not lost a LaLiga game to the Celticos since May 2014.
