Aleix Espargaro will be keen to secure his second victory of the season when he competes at the 2022 Portuguese
Grand Prix on April 24.
The Aprilia rider finished sixth in last season's Portuguese Grand Prix and this was an improvement from the eighth spot finish in the 2020 event.
Espargaro failed to secure a podium finish in the most recent race in the current MotoGP season as he finished 11th at the United States Grand Prix on April 10.

Ducati rider Enea Bastianini won the 2022 United States Grand Prix and he was followed by Suzuki's Alex Rins, who secured the runner-up spot.
While Ducati rider Jack Miller finished third in a race that took place at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin.
Therefore, Bastianini is sitting at the top of the Riders' standings and the Italian rider is followed by Rins, who is in second place,
Aleix Espargaro, who won the 2022 Argentine MotoGP earlier this month, is currently placed third on the Riders' standings heading into the Portuguese Grand Prix.

“This track is the worst for me and the Aprilia, I suffered a lot all weekend and I tried everything to try and find how to go fast, analyzing the data of my team-mate and watching many videos but it’s difficult," Espargaro said after the United States Grand Prix.
"You always have to be cool and understand the situation. Now after the race I’m obviously not happy having won the last race and today being 11th. I can’t be happy but when you feel good and always just try to look in the top three positions it's normal to be disappointed.
"In the end it’s about everything being over 21 races and we already are third in the championship with 50 points, so I’m happy and can’t wait to go to Portimao and Jerez where last year I was competitive, and this year’s machine is much better.”
Ducati are placed at the top of the Manufacturers' Championship standings and they are followed by KTM and Suzuki respectively.
