Third-placed Atletico Madrid will have a chance to possibly lessen the gap when they play against relegation-threatened Las Palmas in

Diego Simeone’s men will be locking horns with Valladolid this Monday, and it will be vital for them to win that clash going into the match against Las Palmas on the weekend.
With eight games left in the La Liga season, every point is vital with Atletico still very much capable of staying in the title race. The coach has made it clear that Atleti are going to take things by every game.
Simeone has voiced his deep appreciation for Conor Gallagher's impressive adjustment to Spanish football after the midfielder's move from Chelsea.
The 25-year-old England international signed with Atletico after being considered surplus to Chelsea's needs by their newly appointed head coach, Enzo Maresca.
Since joining, Gallagher has steadily established himself in Simeone's system, demonstrating his versatility and strong work ethic in various midfield roles.
"Whenever we think of Conor, we think of his youth, energy, and intensity," Simeone said during a press conference.
"He strikes the ball well and has been able to adapt in positions that aren't always natural to him." Gallagher has emerged as a crucial player in Atletico's pressing strategy and defensive setup.
His capacity to fall back into the defence when needed, along with his timely attacking runs into the opponent's box, has introduced a valuable element to the team.
