Newcastle United will look for a fast start to the
2019/20 English Premier League season when they host Arsenal at St. James Park on Sunday 11 August, kick-off at 14:00 CAT.
Newcastle have endured a tough time off the field ahead of the new campaign, with Rafael Benitez departing for China following the expiry of his contract, while new manager Steve Bruce has hardly been given a warm welcome by the club’s fans.
Magpies supporters are disillusioned by the ownership of Mike Ashley, though he did sanction the club record £40million purchase of Brazilian forward Joelinton to replace the likes of Ayoze Perez and Salomon Rondon.

Arsenal have also made a major acquisition recently, bringing Ivory Coast forward Nicolas Pepe from Lille – also for a club record fee, this time £72million.
The Gunners will hope Pepe brings some pep to their wide attacking play, as he looks to feed the likes of Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Arsenal did the ‘double’ over Newcastle last season and will hope to both complete a hat-trick against the team in black and white, and get their campaign off to a winning start.
