Arsenal’s rejuvenation under manager Mikel Arteta will be put to the test when they host a tough-to-beat Sheffield United at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday 18 January 2020, kick-off at 16:00. Arsenal come into the clash on the back of a somewhat frustrating 1-1 draw away to London rivals Crystal Palace this past weekend. The Gunners led early through Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, but ended the game with 10 men after the same player was sent off midway through the second half.
“We conceded a goal where we completely switched off and that is unacceptable and I am really upset with that,” said manager Mikel Arteta. “But after that I think we reacted very well after conceding the goal and after Auba’s red card.”

Sheffield, meanwhile, claimed a 1-0 home win over West Ham United on Friday night to move up to sixth place on the log and continue their incredible campaign under manager Chris Wilder, who has been rewarded with a new four-and-a-half-year deal with the Blades.
“The gaffer and staff have created something special and a lot of players have as well. So to see him and the staff rewarded and commit their futures is great for the boys and the club,” said Oli McBurnie.
In head-to-head stats, Arsenal and Sheffield have met in 114 matches. The Gunners have claimed 48 wins compared to 40 for the Blades, while 26 games have been drawn.
When the teams met in the Premier League earlier this season, at Bramall Lane in October 2019, Sheffield claimed a 1-0 win thanks to a goal from Lys Mousset.
