The Boston Celtic and New York Knicks will revive their rivalry with a
2020-21 NBA Regular Season clash at the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts on 17 January 2021.
The Celtics have seen two scheduled games against the Miami Heat and the Chicago Bulls postponed this week due to Covid-19 issues, bringing to a halt the momentum built up by four straight wins for Boston.
Celtics coach Brad Stevens is taking things as they come in this unpredictable season, but was at least happy to see Tacko Fall take his game to a new level in their impressive win over the Washington Wizards this past weekend.

"One of the things we were missing without those guys here is some physicality and some rim protection. He provided both of those things in a big way, so I thought he was terrific," said Stevens.
"We just singled him out in the locker room. I couldn't be happier for the guy. He goes from undrafted to two-way to still on a two-way but like last year in the bubble, didn't dress half the time ... All he does is smile. He's a great teammate, as good as I've been around, and he works. He is just a – he's a good one, for sure. And I'm really happy for him."
The Knicks have struggled for form in recent games, but guard Austin Rivers says everyone needs to take a “deep breath” and not worry about the team's losing streak.
“We have played some of the best teams in the NBA ... and half of our team is out with injuries,” Rivers said. “So guys have to step up and be better. Our defence has been horrendous and that has led to a bad offence.”

In head-to-head terms, the Celtics and Knicks have met in 478 Regular Season games since 1946-47. The Boston franchise has claimed 296 wins compared to New York's 182.
The teams last met in the Regular Season in December 2019, with the Celtics claiming a 113-104 home win, inspired by 30 points from Jayson Tatum.
