Brandt Snedeker will be keen to become the third golfer to win the Farmers Insurance Open three times after Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson.
What to know about Snedeker
The American golfer won the 2012 FedEx Cup and moved into the top ten of the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) for the first time in his career.
Snedeker has won 13 professional tournaments since he turned pro in 2004 and he has recorded nine victories in the
PGA Tour so far.
Why Snedeker is one of the favourites
The 43-year-old is very familiar with the Torrey Pines Golf Courses having won the Farmers Insurance Open twice at the same venue in 2012 and 2016.
Snedeker, who was named PGA Tour Rookie of the Year in 2007, will be determined to use his impeccable experience to clinch the trophy this weekend.
Snedeker's thoughts
“The West Coast swing was tough because I love playing out there," Snedeker said as he made his return to the PGA Tour last year after undergoing surgery.
"and I was just post-surgery, five weeks out, and I couldn’t do anything. My chest was cut wide open and sternum was broken and put back together; I was still in some pain.
“It was tough watching San Diego and Palm Springs and Sony Open, places I love playing, and I was so far from being there and so far from seeing a path back.”

The former Vanderbilt University student was in action at the recent 2024 American Express and he missed the cut.
Snedeker is currently placed 760th on the OWGR and his best overall ranking is fourth place which he achieved in 2013 after winning the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
