Nigeria men's basketball team will be determined to return to winning ways when they face Germany in their second Group B match on July 28.
The D'Tigers started their Group B campaign with an 84-65 defeat to Australia on July 25 and they will be under pressure to secure a win over Germany.
Their third match will be against another European side, Italy on July 31 as Nigeria look to secure their place in the knockout phase.
Two Nigerian stars will be in action on July 30 when the athletics track and field events begin at the Japan National Stadium known as the Olympic Stadium.
Blessing Okagbare and Grace Nwokocha are set to take part in the 100 meters preliminary round.
Okaghare, who is an Olympic and World Championships medalist in the long jump, will be hoping to go all the way and clinch a medal in the 100 meters event.
2004 Olympic 4x400m Bronze medalist, Musa Audu, has backed the Athletics Team of Nigeria to win gold medals at the ongoing 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games In Japan.
“Absolutely, Nigeria has athletes that will medal in Tokyo Olympics. Ese Brume is a gold medal contender," Audu said on Leadership Nigeria.
“Blessing Okagbare is another one of Nigeria’s medal hopeful, the 100m women’s event is very open."

Her compatriot
Ruth Usoro is scheduled to compete in the women's triple jump qualifying round on the same day.
Usoro's personal-best triple jump of 14.50 in Texas met the qualifying standard for the Tokyo Olympics in the triple jump and placed her in the top 10 in the world for the year
Nigeria's male sprinters
Divine Oduduru, Raymond Ekevwo and Itsekiri Usheoritse will participate in the 100 meters preliminary round on July 31.
All eyes will be on Ekevwo, who clocked an impressive 9.96 as he won gold in the 100 m at the 2019 African Games in Rabat and this mark set a new African Games record.

Lastly,
Ese Brume will take part in the women's long jump event on August 1 having represented Nigeria at the 2016 Olympic Games where she placed fifth in the Long Jump final.
Brume, who three-time African senior champion in the long Jump, placed third in the long jump final of the 2019 World Athletics Championships in Qatar and she will be eyeing an Olympic medal.
