Satoshi Kodaira will be looking to make history at the
2021 Corales Puntacana Resort and Club Championship in the Dominic Republic.
The Japanese star plays on the PGA Tour and Japan Golf Tour and he has enjoyed some success on both platforms.
Kodaira will be keen to become the first Asian player to win the Corales Puntacana Resort and Club Championship.
The 31-year-old, who is currently ranked 449th in the world, has had seven victories on the Japan Golf Tour.
This includes two Japan Golf Tour majors, the 2013 Japan Golf Tour Championship Shishido Hills, 2015 Japan Open and 2012 Japan Challenge Tour.
Kodaira won the RBC Heritage, for his first victory on the PGA Tour after outsmarting South Korea's Kim Si-woo in the playoff in April 2018.
Players ranked in the world top 50 are automatically invited to that tournament, and Kodaira had been in the top 50 for most of the year.
Kodaira has said that playing on the PGA Tour is a dream come true for him and he will be hoping to clinch his second win on the Americas continent at the Corales Golf Club.
“This is a stage I’ve been dreaming about,” Kodaira said.
“And having this opportunity to play full time is a dream come true. So, of course, I will accept full-time membership.
“I feel like I’m getting closer to that level. I’d like to do my best in major championships and, hopefully, work hard at it.”
