2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix

Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso heads to the
Las Vegas Grand Prix on Sunday, November 18 looking to build on his impressive display at Interlagos.
The Spaniard has exceeded expectations in his debut season with the Silverstone outfit to challenge for a top-three finish in the Drivers' standings.
Alonso had been the next best driver behind the two Red Bulls for much of the campaign before back-to-back retirements in the United States Grand Prix and the Mexican Grand Prix left him 38 points adrift of Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton in fourth place.

But the 42-year-old drove superbly in the Brazilian Grand Prix to claim P3, having fended off a late push from Red Bull Racing's Sergio Perez, who overtook him on the penultimate lap but wasn't able to hold on for a podium finish.
Alonso has cut the gap to Hamilton down to 28 points with two races left in 2023 and will be hoping the Silver Arrows remain well off the pace in Las Vegas like they were in Sao Paulo.
The former two-time world champion recorded his first podium since the Dutch Grand Prix and he admitted the last two months had been a "painful" experience.

"We've been struggling for a few months, but the last two races were probably quite painful," Alonso said. "We had to experiment a little bit on a few things on the car to really understand the direction that we were going and we have to go for next year's car as well, so those races were painful, especially Mexico.
"We were very slow as a team in terms of performance, and it was nice to see everyone in the team very focused, the determination in the team was so nice from the outside to see and to go deep in the analysis and come back stronger.
"I was a little bit concerned, no doubt, for the last few races and maybe the final part of the championship and now, I cannot wait to go to Vegas. It's a very different energy when you have a performing car.
"There are a couple of things that have been understood inside the team and the direction to go and we had some hopes for [Brazil] and they proved to be right."
2023 Brazilian Grand Prix results:
Winner: Max Verstappen - Red Bull Racing
Second Place: Lando Norris - McLaren
