2023/24 English Premier League
Matchday 6
Burnley v Manchester United
Turf Moor
Burnley, England
Saturday, 23 September 2023
Kick-off is at 19h00
Manchester United will be looking to snap a two-game losing streak in the
Premier League when they make the short trip to Burnley on Saturday, September 23.
The Red Devils have been beset by on-and-off-the-field problems this season and head to Turf Moor on the back of a poor performance against Brighton on September 16.
The Seagulls ran out convincing 3-1 victors at Old Trafford to bring an end to United's 20-match unbeaten run on home soil under Erik ten Hag, who also lost to the same team in the corresponding fixture on the opening weekend of last season.
Ten Hag's side have now lost three of their opening five games and sit 13th in the standings on six points, five clear of the Clarets, who picked up their first point in a 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on September 18.

The Championship winners couldn't have asked for a better time to face a weakened United team struggling with injuries and various other issues which has left them without Jadon Sancho and Antony.
Both defences are fragile at the moment, with Vincent Kompany's side shipping 12 goals while the Red Devils' goal has been breached 10 times and Andre Onana keeping just one clean sheet in the process.
Luca Koleosho made his fourth consecutive start since arriving from Espanyol in July and he had a hand in Zeki Amdouni's opener at Forest after charging down the left flank and cutting the ball back for Foster, whose miskick fell kindly for the Swiss forward to finish expertly. The Italian teenager had already notched up an assist in the 5-2 defeat to Tottenham prior to the international break.

Sergio Reguilon could yet have an important part to play for United after being brought in on loan from Tottenham as cover for the injured Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia. The Spanish left-back made his debut against Albion and was one of the few players to put in a shift for the hosts, who were run ragged at the Theatre of Dreams.
Kompany reserved special praise for goalscorer Amdouni, who was also on target against the Reds in the EFL Cup on August 30 to clinch a 1-0 win.
"Being honest, I am not surprised by his goal. It's normal it's what he does in training and what he has in his locker," the Belgian said.
"Zeki is one of these players that can receive the ball under pressure and can get out of difficult situations which then opens up the game once he's out and that's key in this league."
Ten Hag dismissed suggestions that United are in crisis at the minute, but acknowledged that results this season are a bit of a concern.
"No [crisis isn't a fair description of where the team is at]. But we have to be very disappointed and we have to be very annoyed with ourselves. Because at United, the demand is you win games," the Dutchman said.
"Definitely, that is something that bothers me [results]. But also I have to see the way we play. But, finally, it's about character and now we have to see how strong we are, and how the team sticks together, and which players are standing up, show the character and lead the team.
"Because in all the games, all the games but, especially, the games against [Brighton] today, Arsenal, Forest, we have seen we can play very good and we can create a lot of chances. But there are also some improvements to make, that is definitely the case, and we have to step up."
