2018/19 Coppa Italia Final
Atalanta vs Lazio
Stadio Olimpico, Rome
Wednesday, 15 May 2019
Despite the difference between Atalanta’s and Lazio’s historical success, when the
Coppa Italia Final rolls around on Wednesday evening, La Dea will look to write the final chapter to complete their ultimate underdog story by lifting their first major piece of domestic silverware in 56 years!
Atalanta lifted the Coppa for the only time in their 111-year history back in 1963 – just four years after Lazio secured their maiden crown – but since then have had to bare witness to their opposite number on Wednesday, Lazio, winning the title on a further five occasions, while adding two Italian top-flight trophies to their cabinet too, in 1973-74 and then again in 1999-2000.
