Francesco Bagnaia will be eager to continue his good form and successfully retain the
British MotoGP title.

The Ducati (Lenovo Team) rider won the recent Dutch MotoGP on June 25 as he boosted his ambitions of winning the 2023 MotoGP world championship.
Bagnaia, who is nicknamed Pecco, started on the second grid and he was able to beat his DucatI teammate Marco Bezzecchi to the chequered flag.
2022 British MotoGP
Pecco was in his element at last year's British MotoGP as he started in the fifth grid and he passed four riders, and went on to win the race.
It was the Italian Grand Prix motorcycle racer's best performance in this race having finished 14th in 2021 and 11th in 2019, and missed the event in 2020.
Why Bagnaia could win the 2023 British MotoGP
Bagnaia remains the man to beat as he is placed at the top of riders' standings and he is determined to retain the MotoGP world championship.
Pecco, who has now won four races in the current MotoGP campaign, will be oozing with confidence when he competes at the British MotoGP after winning last year's race.
What did he say?
“It’s fantastic, it wasn’t easy because [the riders] behind were pushing a lot and I was trying to open the gap, which I just managed to open on the last laps,” said Bagnaia after winning the 2023 Dutch MotoGP.
“Finally I was breathing more because I was quite on the limit, but first of all I love this track, this crowd is fantastic so thank you all. It means more than last year because of the way we started, I was quite scared to start a weekend like this because I didn’t have any feeling. We needed time to improve our situation but in the morning we tried something different and it worked, like in Sachsenring, and I felt better,” he added.
“The degradation was quite slow but the temperature was so high that it was very difficult to remain constant with the tyres. The front was a bit too soft but this was normal for everybody. But I enjoyed because Brad was always there pushing me, and I just tried to build this gap lap by lap and then finally, winning like this is always special before the summer break so I’m very happy.”
