Boston Celtics will square off with the Washington Wizards in a
National Basketball Association (NBA) match at TD Garden on Saturday, January 9.
The two franchises have played each other 308 times in the NBA since 1961. The Celtics have dominated this fixture having recorded 192 wins compared to the Wizards' 116 victories over the years.
Their last meeting was on 13 August 2020 and the Wizards recorded a 96-90 win over the Celtics in a match which took place at TD Garden.
The Celtics are placed sixth on the Eastern Conference standings having registered four victories and three defeats.
They secured a 126-107 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies in their last home game which took place on 31 December 2020.

Brad Stevens, the Celtics head coach, says there still is a lot of work to be done with his team as they look to go all the way this season.
“I know what we need to do to be good and, you know at least, be as good as we can be. I think that those are things that we talk about every day that you’ve seen flashes of at times," Stevens said.
"But the other team is out there too. I’ve known from the day we started training camp and, you know, as I’ve watched this group that they are going to be challenged.

"And there’s going to be times where we’re just going to have to chip away at improving because it is what it is."
Meanwhile, the Wizards find themselves on 13th spot on the Eastern Conference standings having recorded two wins and five defeats.
They succumbed to a 123-122 defeat to Brooklyn Nets in their last away match which was played on 04 January 2021.
