2019/20 Premier League
Round 15
3-5 December 2019
Chelsea will target three points when they host Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge in London on Wednesday 4 December 2019, kick-off at 20:30. The match is one of 10 spread from 3-5 December in the 15th round of the current Premier League season.
Chelsea suffered a fourth league defeat of the season when they were surprisingly beaten 1-0 at home by London rivals West Ham United this past weekend. The Blues still enjoy a healthy six-point lead over Tottenham Hotspur in the top-four race, but manager Frank Lampard will want to see a major improvement in midweek.

“I still believe in the squad. That will be questions that will be asked but I do believe in the squad. ‘This is not the time for harsh reactions or judgements. It is just time to look for a bit of character from the players,” said Lampard.
Villa, meanwhile, put in a promising showing to hold Manchester United 2-2 at Old Trafford, though the Birmingham club are just three points clear of the relegation zone and cannot afford to rest on their laurels.
“I’m probably a little bit frustrated, because our first-half performance was very good, aside from their goal. It was a spirited display,” said manager Dean Smith, who will hope to have Anwar El Ghazi fit after he limped out of the game against United with an injury, though Egyptian Mohamed Trezeguet could prove an able replacement.
In head-to-head stats, Chelsea and Villa have met in 141 previous matches. The Blues have claimed 58 wins compared to 51 for the Birmingham team, while 32 games have been drawn.
The teams last met in the Premier League in the 2015/16 season, with Chelsea completing a league double by winning 2-0 at Stamford Bridge and 4-0 at Villa Park. The Villains have not beaten the Blues since March 2014.
