2019/20 Premier League
Round 14
30 November – 1 December 2019
Chelsea and West Ham United will renew their tense London rivalry when they meet at Stamford Bridge on Saturday 30 November 2019, kick-off at 16:00. The match is one of 10 across the weekend for the 14th round of the Premier League season.
Chelsea suffered a first league defeat since September when they succumbed 2-1 away to Manchester City – despite opening the scoring through N’Golo Kante.
Even though his side were on the wrong end of the score line, manager Frank Lampard took some major positives from the game: “We’re coming to close the gap [to Liverpool and Man City],” he explained.
“We have to show a response to having a great run of wins. I feel there were big parts of that game that show we were coming. We know there’s a transitional feel to it but if we keep working we’ll be coming.”

West Ham’s plunge toward the relegation zone continued when they suffered a 3-2 loss at home to London rivals Tottenham Hotspur this past Saturday. The Hammers have struggled for form since a bright start to the season and desperately need to turn their fortunes around, with manager Manuel Pellegrini now under huge pressure for his post.
"Both of us (the players and the manager) have the responsibility to play well, to win games," said Pellegrini. “Of course these are not the results we expected, especially losing so many points here at home."
In head-to-head stats, Chelsea and West Ham have met in 98 previous matches. The Blues have claimed 41 wins compared to 36 for the Hammers, while 21 games have been drawn.
Chelsea took four points off West Ham in the teams’ league meetings last season, drawing 0-0 at the London Stadium in September 2018 before claiming a 2-0 home win at Stamford Bridge in April 2019, with a brace from Eden Hazard.
