Manchester City will square off with Liverpool in the English Premier League match at the Eithad Stadium on Thursday.
The Citizens thrashed Southampton 3-1 away in their previous league game which was played over the weekend.
The win saw City return to winning ways in the league having lost to Crystal Palace and Leicester City, before facing Southampton.
The defeat ended the Citizens' 12-match unbeaten run at home in the league having recorded 11 wins and one draw.
City will be eyeing their second successive win in the league when they lock horns with an in-form Liverpool side.
Meanwhile, Liverpool thumped Arsenal 5-1 in their previous league match which was played over the weekend.
The victory extended the Reds' winning run to nine matches in the league and they are also undefeated in their last 21 games in the competitions.
They are also undefeated in their last 10 league games on the road having registered eight draws and two wins away.
Liverpool will be looking to secure their 10th consecutive league victory when they take on a rejuvenated City side.
The last league meeting between City and Liverpool was on the 7th of October 2018.
The two teams played to a goalless draw at the Eihad Stadium.
