To celebrate the 60
th anniversary of the UEFA Euros, the 2020 edition of the tournament will – for the first time ever – be held in multiple countries at the same time. From Rome to London, the tournament will take place in 12 cities in 12 different European countries at the same time. Here’s everything you need to know about the tournament.

At this stage, 20 teams have qualified for the 24-team tournament. Unlike previous years, host countries don’t automatically qualify for the competition which means we might see a few host countries without a team featuring in the tournament.
So far, these are the teams that have qualified: Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, England, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine and Wales.
The remaining four teams will be added in March 2020.

There are 12 host cities in 12 different European countries. The first match will be played in Rome while the final will be played at London’s 90,000-seater Wembley Stadium.
The other cities that will host at least one match are Amsterdam, Baku, Bilbao, Bucharest, Budapest, Copenhagen, Dublin, Glasgow, Munich, and St Petersburg. Of all the stadiums, Copenhagen’s Parken Stadium is the smallest with a capacity of just over 38,000.
What do the groups look like?

Germany, France and Portugal all find themselves in the ‘group of death’ at this year’s tournament and while Groups A and B have been finalised, there are still four more spots which could be snapped up by teams who are yet to qualify.
Here’s what the groups look like:
Group A: Italy, Switzerland, Turkey, Wales
Group B: Belgium, Russia, Denmark, Finland
Group C: Ukraine, Netherlands, Austria, TBD
Group D: England, Croatia, Czech Republic, TBD
Group E: Spain, Poland, Sweden, TBD
Group F: Germany, France, Portugal, TBD
Iceland, Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Georgia, North Macedonia, Kosovo, Belarus, Scotland, Israel, Norway, Serbia, Slovakia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland all have a chance to qualify for this year's edition of the tournament.
Who are the favourites?

As the World Cup champions, France are favourites to win the tournament ahead of England, Belgium, Germany and Spain. However, the fact that there is no ‘home’ side means that the tournament is wide open and any team could lift the trophy.
If Didier Deschamps is able to lead France to the title, he will be the first person to win both the World Cup and the European Championship as both a player and a manager.
Despite winning the tournament four years ago, many pundits don’t view Portugal as likely to win this year’s tournament. Cristiano Ronaldo is, however, likely to net his 100
th international goal at the tournament.
