The Utah Jazz and Dallas Mavericks will battle for a key victory in the NBA Regular Season, as they meet at the Vivint Smart Home Arena in Salt Lake City, Utah on the morning of Saturday 26 February 2022. Tip-off is at 03:00.
The Jazz have been one of the best teams in the Western Conference, though they have received neither the kind of praise reserved for the Phoenix Suns and Golden State Warriors, nor the ‘underdog’ encouragement of the Memphis Grizzlies.
Nonetheless, Utah is a powerful unit that likely secure a direct spot in the Playoffs and they are even better now that Rudy Gobert is back from injury.

“It’s great, just his [Gobert’s] presence. We all know how good he is, how important he is for this team both offensively and defensively. Offensively, rolling to the basket, grabbing those offensive boards and putbacks... and his defence, we all know what he does,” Bojan Bogdanovic said of Gobert, the three-time defensive player of the year.
The Mavericks, meanwhile, have not been far off the pace set by the Jazz, though they will need to be wary of dropping out of the top six in the Conference and possibly missing a direct path into the Playoffs. Yet if they play as they did in last week’s 107-99 win over the Miami Heat, then all will be well in Dallas.

“The only thing that went through my mind was having fun, enjoying every second on the court,” Mavericks newcomer Davis Bertans said. “I was trying to do my part to help the team win the game, bring energy. We won the game. That’s the best part of it.”
In head-to-head stats, the Jazz and the Mavericks have met in 180 Regular Season games since 1980-81, with Utah claiming 105 wins compared to 75 for Dallas. The teams’ last Regular Season meeting was in December 2021, with the Jazz winning 120-116 at home thanks to 33 points from Donovan Mitchell.
