Madrid, Spain
Sunday, 3 March 2024
Kick-off is at 16h15
Atletico Madrid will take on a stubborn Real Betis side in a
La Liga match at the Estádio Cívitas Metropolitano on 3 March.
Current Form
The Mattress Makers drew 2-2 with UD Almeria away on 24 February and they are now winless in their last two games in the Spanish top-flight.
However, the Mattress Makers are undefeated in their last 24 home matches in the league having registered 22 wins and two draws at the Estádio Cívitas Metropolitano.
Meanwhile, Betis emerged as 3-1 winners over Athletic Bilbao at home on 25 February and they are unbeaten in their last five La Liga matches.
The Green and Whites are also unbeaten in their last two away matches in the league having recorded one victory and one draw as the visitors.
Team News
Atletico players Thomas Lemar, Marcos Paulo, Antoine Griezmann, Jose Maria Gimenez and César Azpilicueta are currently injured, but the club has no suspension woes.
Betis, on the other hand, have no suspension worries, but Marc Bartra, Guido Rodríguez and Isco are on the club's injury list.
Quotes
"In attack we had chances, but we need to improve the defensive plot, but the goal will come," Atletico manager Diego Simeone said after his side drew with Almeria.
"We could have had the clearest situations, we could not be forceful, I liked the energy with which the team played. They always looked after themselves, I am with them to the death.
"I like the intention they had, we lacked forcefulness. The only thing I can explain is that the coach prepares the away games poorly, the responsibility is always mine. There are many games."
Head-to-Head
Atletico and Betis drew 0-0 in their last La Liga meeting which took place at the Estadio Benito Villamarín on 20 August 2023.
As a result, the Mattress Makers are unbeaten in their last nine matches in the league against the Green and Whites having registered seven wins and two draws.
