Quotes

"We are in a bad run of results. I think we have to separate emotions from facts and remain objective, which is difficult right after a match because the frustration is huge," Palmas manager Diego Martinez said after his side's 3-1 defeat to Real Mallorca on 16 February.

"It wasn’t a good game—we were outplayed, and they were better. But we also need to stay calm and realistic. We have 23 points, we knew this would be a tough place to play, and now we are fully in the fight. Now, more than ever, we must stay united.

"We believe in our players. We believe in what we do. Today was a bad game, but the only way to overcome these moments is by staying together."

Head-to-Head

Palmas claimed a 2-1 win over Barcelona in their last meeting in La Liga with the match taking place at Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys on 30 November.

Therefore, the win ended Pio Pio's 12-match winless run in the league against Barca who had registered nine wins and three draws since 2000.
