2024-25 NBA Regular Season
Utah Jazz v LA Clippers
Delta Center
Salt Lake City, Utah
Friday 14 February 2025
Tip-off at 03:00
LA Clippers will be hoping for a repeat performance when they meet Utah Jazz for the second time in five days at the Delta Center on the morning of Friday, February 14.
The Clippers were on fire against the Jazz on February 9 as they produced a couple of season-highs in a 130-110 victory at the Intuit Dome.
Utah closed within two points in the fourth quarter before Tyronn Lue's team went on a 15-2 run to seal the win, with Ivica Zubac scoring 26 points and James Harden making 17 assists (both season-bests).
It snapped a three-game losing streak for LA, who kept Minnesota Timberwolves (7th) out of the top six in the Western Conference by a marginal win percentage.
Commenting on his performance, Zubac said: "I'll do whatever it takes. I take my time and see how the defense plays me. I haven't been seeing a lot of double teams lately so it's about cutting to the basket and making the right reads."
The Jazz have been woeful this season, picking up just 12 wins to leave them scrapping it out with New Orleans Pelicans at the bottom of the Western Conference.
Will Hardy's team have the third-worst record in the NBA and a 132-113 defeat to Los Angeles Lakers on February 11 extended their losing streak to three games and their ninth straight on the road.
Utah wilted in the spotlight as a Luka Doncic-inspired Lakers shot an impressive 54.3 per cent from the floor to open up a 34-point lead at one stage.
John Collins and Lauri Markkanen led the team for scoring with 17 points apiece, two of seven players to make double figures, but they couldn't keep pace with the hosts.
"We got our butts kicked," Hardy declared. "We got physically dominated in a lot of ways tonight. I think that the attention to detail, the individual defense, the initial shifts, they just weren't there.
"I thought our activity as a whole was pretty poor on the defensive end tonight. I think it was a night where we let missing shots, or not getting shots, or tough plays on that end bleed into our defense and our attention to detail."
