2019/20 Premier League
Round 22
10-12 January 2020
Liverpool’s dominance of the
Premier League will be put to the test by hosts Tottenham Hotspur when the teams meet at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London on Saturday 11 January 2020, kick-off at 18:30. The match is one of 10 spread across the weekend of 10-12 January for Round 22 of the current English top-flight season.
Liverpool continued their winning streak by defeating Sheffield United last midweek, while in the FA Cup they fielded a young and inexperienced team but still triumphed 1-0 over Everton on Sunday.
“The boys were 100 per cent focused; that was the important stuff. In all positions it was exceptional. Our new year starts at the middle of May – so we have season resolutions, not year resolutions,” said manager Jurgen Klopp.

Tottenham, meanwhile, slumped to a defeat away to Southampton in their last Premier League outing, before being held to a 1-1 draw by lower league side Middlesbrough in the FA Cup.
“Every match is difficult. Championship teams are getting closer to the level of Premier League teams. You could confuse a Premier League team and a Championship team. I wanted more but I cannot say I’m disappointed,” said manager Jose Mourinho, who will need a major improvement from his side if they are to challenge Liverpool.
In head-to-head terms, Tottenham and Liverpool have met in 158 previous matches. The Reds have claimed 75 wins compared to 43 for the Lilywhites, while 40 games have been drawn.
Liverpool came from behind to defeat Tottenham 2-1 when the teams met in the Premier League earlier this season. Harry Kane put Spurs 1-0 up in the first minute at Anfield in October 2019, but the Reds claimed victory through second-half goals from Jordan Henderson and Mohamed Salah.
