The Atlanta Hawks and the Boston Celtics will renew their rivalry with an NBA Regular Season game at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia on the morning of Saturday 29 January 2022. Tip-off is at 01:30.
The Hawks have endured a difficult season thus far and find themselves in lower mid-table on the Eastern Conference standings, struggling to bring themselves back into contention for a place in the Playoffs.

However, Atlanta have enjoyed an upturn in form recently and claimed an impressive 110-108 home win over the Miami Heat this past weekend, with Trae Young and Kevin Huerter scoring 28 and 21 points respectively.
"There's been a chunk in the last three games when they got hot and then tonight the way we ended the game," Young said. "We just have a little spurt throughout the game where they get on a run and we've got to be better to figure it out and not let that happen. But teams are going to go on a run, so we have to manage it the best we can."
The Celtics have fared only a little better than the Hawks in the East and are hoping to compete with the likes of the Washington Wizards, Toronto Raptors and Charlotte Hornets to finish in mid-table.

This past weekend saw Boston beaten 109-105 at home by the Portland Trail Blazers, with Jayson Tatum putting up 27 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists. "We've just got to stay healthy and put a run together. We've had some bad losses, obviously, and we beat the best teams," Tatum said. "We've just got to be more consistent and be better more often than we have."
In head-to-head stats, the Hawks and the Celtics have met in 383 Regular Season games since 1949-50, with Boston claiming 237 wins compared to 146 for Atlanta. The teams’ last Regular Season meeting was in November 2021, with the Hawks winning 110-99 at home thanks to 20 points from John Collins, as well as 19 apiece from Kevin Huerter and Cam Reddish.
