Cameron Smith comes into the Sony Open in Hawaii fresh off his victory at the
Tournament of Champions last week.
The Australian broke into the Official World Golf Ranking top-10 after setting a new four-round scoring record of 34-under 258 at the Kapalua Plantation Course.

It was Smith's fourth PGA Tour win and his third title in three consecutive years. He finished in the top-10 on eight occasions during the 2021 season, which was a new career record.
The 28-year-old is a former winner at the Waialae Country Club after he defeated Brendan Steele in a playoff in 2020.

Commenting on his PGA Tour record 34-under, Smith revealed that he actually missed his target by one stroke.
"Unreal round. Something I'll never forget, for sure," he said. "I was just trying to hit one shot at a time. I know that sounds cliche. We spoke about it earlier in the day.
"We wanted to get to 35 under. We missed it by one, so in that sense disappointing. But happy to come away with the W."
