2022/23 English Premier League
Matchday 21
Liverpool v Chelsea
Anfield
Liverpool, England
Saturday, 21 January 2023
Kick-off is at 13h30
Liverpool will be desperate to get back on the winning trail when they welcome Chelsea to Anfield in the
Premier League on Saturday, January 21.
The Reds lost more ground in the race for UEFA Champions League football after a 3-0 defeat to Brighton on Saturday left them nine points adrift of the top four in ninth spot.
Jurgen Klopp's side had also been beaten 3-1 by Brentford in their previous fixture and they'll be aiming to avoid three consecutive losses in the league for the first time in almost exactly two years.

Klopp facing increasing pressure and he admits this is the lowest point in his career after seeing his players struggle to compete against the Seagulls.
"The problems are the same like last week when we spoke about it: we don't win the key battles on the pitch, the key challenges, and we give the ball away too easily," the German said.
"I can't remember a worse game. I honestly can't and I mean all, not only Liverpool, I can't remember, and that is my responsibility. That makes it a really low point for the moment. [That's] clear."
The Blues halted a three-match winless run with a 1-0 triumph over city neighbours Crystal Palace on Sunday and they'll be hoping to have turned a corner.
Graham Potter has found the going tough at Stamford Bridge in the last couple of months, having gone into the World Cup break on the back of a five-game winless sequence and winning just two of their five outings.

The west Londoners are tied with the Merseysiders on 18 points but they occupy 10th place by virtue of an inferior goal difference.
Potter hailed a resolute performance from his players and believes the result will give them a welcome lift for the long journey to the north-west coast.
"There's a lot of young players and the moment we're in in terms of form we'll park it as three valuable points for us and a spirited performance with a lot of character," he said.
"It's a nice reward for the boys and it gives us a shot in the arm for the weekend."
