Premier League 2019/20
Everton goalkeeper Joao Virgina says he is excited to spend the 2019/20 season with EFL Championship club Reading.
The 19-year-old will feature in the second tier of
English soccer and hopefully gain some experience before returning to the Toffees in a year’s time.
"The manager and I spoke before, he trusts in me and he convinced me to come here. I can't wait to get started," Virginia said after completing his loan.
"I don't think the age counts. If you see me play, you won't recognise my age. When you see the quality and the work I put into my game, that's all that matters."
He added: "I want to improve as a keeper, and confirm my place as a senior player. Playing in the Championship with a big club like Reading will definitely help.
"As a keeper, you need to be confident, to be worthy of the trust of your teammates. That's what I'll bring to the team. I'm up to the challenge."
