Liverpool will target another three-point haul in Group D when they welcome Midtjylland to Anfield on Tuesday 27 October, kick-off at 21:00. The match is one of 16 on 27-28 October in Matchday 2 of the
UEFA Champions League group stage.
Liverpool opened their European campaign with a scratchy but valuable 1-0 away win over Ajax in Amsterdam on October 21, with an own goal from Nicolas Tagliafico deciding the match. It was not the usual swashbuckling style from the Reds, but a key result nonetheless.

"We didn't use our chances which is something of a shame. Ajax had a big one with the post directly after half-time. When you're only 1-0 up these things can happen but all over I'm really fine with the game. It was not sunny-shine world-class football day but especially in a tournament like the Champions League you still need the result and we got it,” said Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.
Midtjylland’s Group D opened with a dispiriting 4-0 loss at home to Atalanta. The Danes found themselves 3-0 down at half-time but at least showed better fight to restrict La Dea to just one late goal in the second half, though the match was very much over as a contest long before then.

Goalkeeper Jesper Hansen admitted: "Nothing surprised us, but we had hoped that we could have more impact on the match and maybe have been a little bit more on the ball. We had some good periods, but that wasn't enough to beat a team like them."
The other Group D match on Tuesday 27 October sees Italy’s Atalanta host Dutch giants Ajax at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo.
