The 2019 Spanish Moto Grand Prix is set to take place on Sunday, May 5 in the Spanish city, Jerez.

This will be the fourth round of this year's Championship and it will take place at the Circuito de Jerez-Ángel Nieto.
 
The circuit opened on 8 December 1985 and it was renamed in honour of the former motorcyclist Ángel Nieto, who died in 2017. 
 
Honda rider Marc Marquez is the defending champion (Spanish Grand Prix) having won last year's race.
 
Yamaha's Johann Zarco, who is now with Red Bull KTM, and Suzuki rider Andrea Iannone finished second, and third respectively.

Andrea Dovizioso of Ducati is placed at the top of the riders' standings having accumulated 54 points from three races. 
 
Yamaha rider Valentino Rossi and Suzuki's Alex Rins are second, and third respectively. 
 
As a result, Ducati are sitting at the top of the manufacturers' standings - six points above second-placed Honda.
 
Yamaha are placed third on the standings with 16 races left in the current campaign.
