The latest edition of the Merseyside derby will see Everton looking for revenge over Liverpool when the teams meet at Goodison Park on Monday 16 March 2020, kick-off at 21:00. The match is one of 10 spread from 14 to 16 March for the 30
th round of the
2019/20 Premier League season.
Everton have enjoyed some fine form of late under manager Carlo Ancelotti, but this past weekend they were off their game and suffered a 4-0 humbling away to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
"What went wrong? Everything was wrong! From the first minute until the end, we were not in the game. We were slow, we were not compact and it's difficult to say something [specific] because everything was wrong,” said the veteran Italian of the Toffees’ showing at the Blues.

Liverpool moved ever closer to claiming the Premier League title – and returned to winning form following their shock defeat to Watford the week before – with a 2-1 home triumph over Bournemouth, thanks to goals from Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.
“But I was absolutely happy about the result, the three points and the performance because I knew it would be tricky for different reasons,” said manager Jurgen Klopp “I think the decisions of the ref around the goals made it even more tricky for us, obviously. We wanted to fight back before the game and after that we had to fight back. How we played after being 1-0 down was exceptional, to be honest.”
In head-to-head stats, Everton and Liverpool have met in 286 previous matches. The Reds have claimed 121 wins compared to 82 for the Toffees, while 83 games have been drawn.
When the teams met in the Premier League earlier this season, at Anfield in December 2019, Liverpool claimed a thrilling 5-2 win thanks to goals from Divock Origi (two), Xherdan Shaqiri, Sadio Mane and Georginio Wijnaldum.
