Sepp Straka will be determined to make history by becoming the first Austrian to win the
Valero Texas Open.
What to know about Straka
The 29-year-old competes on the PGA Tour having been born in Vienna, Austria to an Austrian father and American mother before moving to the USA as a 14-year-old.
Straka decided to represent Austria internationally having competed in the Men's individual event at the 2020 Summer Olympics, finishing tied-10th overall.
He is a two-time winner on the PGA Tour having clinched last year's Honda Classic and KC Golf Classic which is part of the Web.com Tour.

Straka finished 59th at the recent 2023 WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play on March 26 with his fellow European Matt Wallace of England winning the tournament.
The Georgia-based golfer's best performance so far in 2023 came at the Honda Classic where he finished fifth on February 26.
Why Straka is among the favourites
Currently placed 32nd on the Official World Golf Rankings, Straka is one of the favourites to win the Valero Texas Open and only Hideki Matsuyama is ranked higher than him on the OWGR.
The former University of Georgia student is set to make his third appearance at Valero Texas Open having failed to make the cut in 2019 before finishing 67th in 2021.`
What did he say
“Obviously wanted to get the win, disappointed with that,” Straka said after finishing second at the Sanderson Farms Championship last October.
“But I played really well today. I shot 67 on a Sunday, came from behind and got myself in a playoff. Mac played great, birdieing 18. 18 is not an easy hole.
"Yeah, happy for him, and looking forward to some more.”
