Kick-off at 17:00

Liverpool will look to take another step toward the Premier League title when they host relegation-bound Southampton at Anfield on the afternoon of Saturday, 8 March 2025. Kick-off is at 16:00.

Current Form

Liverpool extended their unbeaten run in the league to 24 matches when they defeated Newcastle United 2-0 at home on 25 February, with goals from Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister. The Merseyside club has racked up 67 points from 28 matches, and enjoys a 13-point lead at the top of the log.

The Reds are unbeaten in their last 11 home league matches, claiming nine wins in that sequence.

Southampton have suffered three successive league defeats, most recently succumbing 4-0 away to Chelsea on 25 February, and recorded nine losses in their last 10 league results. They are bottom of the log, with just nine points to their name from 27 matches.

The Saints have managed just one away win all season, defeating fellow strugglers Ipswich Town on 25 January.

Team News

Liverpool will be missing Joe Gomez and Tyler Morton due to injury, while Conor Bradley is doubtful due to a hamstring strain.

Southampton have Kyle Walker-Peters, Ryan Fraser, Jan Bednarek and Adam Lallana sidelined.

Quotes

“[Liverpool will only celebrate] After mathematically they [Arsenal] do not have any chance to get us," said midfielder said Dominik Szoboszlai.

"We're really happy that we are 13 points clear but we just focus on ourselves. We have [the] Champions League coming up so we have to focus on that too. We are looking forward to staying at the top of the table.”
