Zozo Championship twice when he tees off in Chiba Prefecture.

The Japanese superstar has won 17 worldwide wins, eight career top-10 finishes in major championships, and 2021 Masters Tournament.
Matsuyama's eight wins on the PGA Tour make him the most successful Japanese member of the PGA Tour in history.
He is the first-ever Japanese professional golfer to win a men's major golf championship – the 2021 Masters Tournament.

Matsuyama was in action at the recent 2023 BMW Championship where he withdrew ahead of his second round citing a back injury.
The 31-year-old is currently placed 36th on the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR), and his best overall ranking is second place.
Why Matsuyama could win the Zozo Championship
Matsuyama won this tournament in 2021 at Narashino Country Club. He won by five strokes over Cameron Tringale and Brendan Steele.
The 2013 Japan Golf Tour Most Valuable Player knows what it takes to win at the Narashino Country Club and he will be confident of winning the event for the second time.

“I’m looking forward to competing in the Zozo Championship and playing in front of our amazing fans again this October," Matsuyama said.
"Winning the tournament in 2021 remains as one of my most memorable achievements. I’ll do my best to prepare well for the tournament and play to my best abilities.
