British starlet Emma Raducanu will be eager to win her first grand slam tournament when she takes part in the 2021
US Open women's singles final.
The 18-year-old player is scheduled to take on Leylah Fernandez of Canada in the final on September 11 at 21h00.
Raducanu became the first British woman in 53 years to reach the finals after Virginia Wade following her win over Greece's Maria Sakkari in the quarter-finals on September 10.

"Is there any expectation? I’m a qualifier so technically there’s no pressure on me,” Raducanu said after she became the first qualifier to ever reach a Grand Slam final by Sakkari 6-1, 6-4.
“The time here in New York has gone so fast,” says on court after her win. I’ve just been taking care of each day and before you know it, three weeks later, I’m in the final and I can’t actually believe it.
“Honestly, today I wasn’t thinking of anyone else except for myself.”
With a wildcard entry to 2021 Wimbledon, her Major debut, Raducanu reached the fourth round and she is currently ranked 150th in the world by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA).

Prior to her debut performance at Wimbledon, Raducanu's career-high WTA singles ranking was number 338 and she has gradually gone on the world rankings in 2021.
The Canada-born player has now reached the final on her debut appearance in the US Open and she is looking to become the first British woman to win the competition since Wade in 1968.
This will be the second meeting between Raducanu and Fernandez in competitive matches.
Raducanu defeated Fernandez 6-2, 6-4 in the second-round match at the 2018 Wimbledon Juniors.
This will be the first all-teenage women's singles final since 1999 US Open between American icon Serena Williams and Swiss legend Martina Hingis.
